I really want to teach my son to read, but he just is not catching on as fast as I would have hoped that he would. I thought that he would be a natural scholar, and that I would be able to teach him a foreign language by the time he was like six or seven, but it is taking me awhile to get him to pick up the ability to read. As such, I am going to try to find some sort of kids reading games on the internet, and hopefully, I can find one that will really help my son to learn how to read at a faster rate. He is going to kindergarten next year, and I think it would be really helpful for him to be ahead of other kids by already being a strong reader by the time he gets there. I am hoping that I can get him to start reading int he next couple of weeks or months.

I remember years ago reading an article about how a Russian Professor taught his language to infants through fairy tales. He began by reading them a well-known fairy tale in English. He reread it to them, this time sprinkling a few words of Russian here and there. He continued to read it, substituting more and more Russian words for English words as he went on. It was such a gradual process the children hardly knew they were learning Russian until one day the entire story had been translated and they understood every word. I think this is the best way to learn a language, by not really thinking about it, by allowing it to just happen. When you look at Pimsleur Spanish, or French, or any of his other courses, this is the reasoning behind the approach. Instead of just mindless repetition, you are actively engaged in the lessons and absorb the language spontaneously.

I do not like the fact that the public school in my neighborhood is not hiring licensed teachers. Some of the teachers have only been to community college, so they do not even have an education degree. I have decided to pull my children out of the school and teach them myself. I do have a teaching license, but I am not working in a school right now. I am staying at home to take care of my mother, because she is suffering from dementia. Since I am at home anyway, I am just going to start teaching my kids during the week. I am very familiar with the elementary school curriculum, because I used to teach third grade. My children do not know that I am going to take them out of public school yet. I am going to tell them tomorrow. I just hope that they like my idea.

When this foreign exchange student came into my class at first I did not notice her until I finally saw her up close. She was beautiful and I was so shy around her that I could not say a word while she was in my presence. Eventually I got up the courage one day to just say hi to her. As I was about to say the words I froze up and could not do it. It was like a barrier was in my way stopping besides the fact that she was being surrounded by people trying to get her attention. I lost all hope in trying to become friends with her because I did not believe I was special at all and felt like I was not worthy of her friendship. Then I got a little talk from my father who told me if I am not special then become special. I decided that I would hire a Polish interpreter who would teach me Polish interpreting so that I may be able to win her heart or at least her friendship. I learned a lot from that man who taught me more than just to interpret the language. He taught me that there was more to learn in this world than what you find at school. After this I casually said something in Polish to the exchange student to which she responded and wanted to talk to me. Time passed and we became very good friends. After we became friends we became a couple and that is all thanks to the training my teacher taught me in Polish interpreting.

I had been procrastinating long enough, I needed to find a class that I could enroll in that would meet the continuing education criteria that was needed for my job. After carefully and quickly perusing my choices, I decided to enroll in one of the Spanish lessons London offers. I figured that since Spanish is spoken in so many places now and by so many people, that this was a great choice for me. Not only would I be able to meet the requirements necessary for my continuing education, but I would be gaining knowledge in a much needed area. Because at this time in my life, I cannot ask for anything in any language besides English and there could come a time when this could cause I problem. If I were ever to get the opportunity to travel for work or for pleasure, I want to be prepared. I figure taking the Spanish Lessons London offers will help me in this preparation.
