I am a big fan of PVP in online games and Rift is no exception.
The game is not completely centered around PVP like in Warhammer Online (so sad what happened to that game, so much potential) but there is still a lot of opportunity to fight other players.
Let’s start with the rewards for PVP in Rift because even though PVP is great fun, everyone needs a reward.
Basically you earn ‘Favor’, which are points that you can use to get special PVP reward, such as armor, weapons and other items.
You earn Favor from killing people in PVP, winning Warfronts and taking objectives in certain areas.
So Favor is kind of the PVP version of your experience points.
I would advise you mix up player versus player with the PVE side of the game for maximum fun and variety of loot.
